A GAZAIAN.

I wandered through the streets,
Searching for nothing!

I saw children, with ceased heartbeats,
Lying on the floor, waiting for nothing.

I could hear the roar of missiles;
I could see gores on all the buildings’ aisles.

On the pathways, where I was mooching around,
I saw showers of shells, smooching with the land!

Humans…my masters! They were in such a rage;
Because they broke the rules, which they themselves made over an age.

But why should I bother?
Let them be in anger.
I had more to wander,
So as to kill my hunger.

I straddled over a waste-bin; my futile attempts to find bread could not transpire a piece.
Oh yes, I forgot; my masters were busy fighting for ‘peace’!

Standing on my four legs, brisk,
Had become like taking a himalayan risk.
So I let myself stop my search for a bread crumb,
And took rest beside that bin, waiting for the death to succumb.

While I was falling all the way to an endless sleep;
Suddenly I felt a touch on my forehead.
Through my half-opened eyes, as I peeped;
I saw a child, with a wounded head.

He had a pack of cookies in his hands,
And a smile on his face.

That smile! That smile which was common on those streets…
That smile! Of hopelessness! That smile! Of fear! That smile! Of pain!

Suddenly! Weapons screeched and people screamed.
I was startled! A huge blast it was!

I closed my eyes and waited for the death…
I could hear thousands crying and screaming for their lives…
I could feel the heat of those hearts shattering…
I could sense the smell of the blood flowing…

Seconds, minutes and hours passed by;
I opened my eyes to see whether the child was still there.
Oh…thank god! His hands with cookies in it, were just there near my mouth.
I slowly stood up to show him my gratitude;
And was shocked to see those hands on the floor…just those hands on the floor!

I could feel my hunger turning into anger…
With all the rage and grudge towards the mankind…
I ferociously barked at the world…
BOWWW…BOWW…BOW!!!
